Full Description
Braun Intertec is seeking Field Technicians to join our team. This is a traveling position working on wind, solar farms, and other renewable energy projects. Braun Intertec is searching for individuals who are looking for a traveling position and are dependable and flexible. This individual should have strong initiative and self-motivation and be able to perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. Work will primarily be located throughout the Central Unites States. However, travel to the greater United States may be required. Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with Braun Intertec project personnel, technicians, clients, and contractor representatives regarding project requirements, testing needs, and results. Technicians will also perform testing using a variety of test methods, prepare and submit testing and observation reports. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Responsibilities: Perform routine to complex sampling, observations, and testing including, but not limited to, soil resistivity, pile observations, and pile load testing Occasionally perform anchor testing, load testing, concrete coring, floor flatness testing, infiltration testing, pavement FWD, pavement GPR, high and low frequency GPR, and slab moisture testing Troubleshoot and adjust testing to meet site conditions and project needs Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed All candidates must have: A high school diploma or equivalent A valid driver's license and clean driving record for the last 3 years The ability to lift 75+ pounds Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Technical expertise in electronic field data collection High attention to detail The ideal candidate will have: Excellent plan reading skills Experience driving a pickup truck or other large vehicles Mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, materials emphasis, or related Possess EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months Demonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude for test equipment and electronics. 2+ years of experience in construction or mechanical related field A strong safety focus and attention to detail Braun Intertec is a drug-free workplace and require all new hires to complete a pre-employment drug screen test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
