Supplier Quality Engineer Solar Utility International Travel with Short Notice Contract or Contract to Hire
Company Bio
- A rapidly growing Solar Utility EPC with BESS Projects is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer who can travel 50%! This is a long term contract or contract-to-hire opportunity.
Scope of responsibilities
· Deliverable and Communication: Develop, deploy, and manage clear quality programs and reporting systems for all product types globally in collaboration with Program Management. Manage global engagement to enable a program that is applicable across all projects.
· Lessons Learned: Lead lessons learned process with internal and external stakeholders throughout various phases of the manufacturing and installation processes to ensure minimal impact to the following opportunities.
· Audits and Inspections: Serve, advocate, and lead the Global Customer Success Quality Program through collaborative engagement across all departments. Ensure site and supplier audits and inspections are thorough and open items are remediated.
· Solutions Driven: Lead and maintain quality engineering solutions development discussions with all parties. Ensure issues completion statuses are tracked and available to the team.
· Issues Triage: Serve as key decisionmaker for all issues Intake. Ensure tickets are properly assigned, prioritized, and evaluated for commercial risk. Use data analytics to review Non-Conformance Requests in the form of CAPAs, JIRAs, NCRs, and more.
· Product Readiness: Drive product development cycle decisions using quality-based business intelligence systems. Work alongside Product Development and Engineering throughout the various Product Stage Gates to ensure the product delivered is of high quality.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field required
- · 5-10+ years of experience in quality, engineering, or operations roles within manufacturing or energy sectors, with proven success supporting customer-facing project teams and collaborating across global organizations.
- · Proven leadership experience managing quality engineering teams and driving alignment across regional organizations.
· Deep understanding of at least two of the following domains: Software & Controls, Batteries, Inverters, Transformers, and Electrical Systems. · Strong background in developing and implementing proactive quality systems, risk management frameworks, and lifecycle improvement processes. · Demonstrated success driving product readiness and launch scalability in partnership with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. · Strong analytical mindset with a track record of data-driven decision making tied to cost and performance outcomes. · Ability to lead through influence and foster collaboration across functions and cultures. · Experience with supplier quality management, product lifecycle integration, and change control processes. · Familiarity with quality assurance for product and design changes, including compliance, validation, and risk mitigation. · 10 Years of working in large scale (100MWpeak +) renewable energy projects or related fields.
· Comprehensive Commercial Knowledge: strong ability to interpret legal agreements and establish a position on behalf of the regional organization.
