The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing test solutions. These solutions support our $5B Avionics strategic business and external customers, including armed services and airlines, both domestic and international.

We have an opportunity for an Electronics Technician to build, troubleshoot, and support the development of industry-leading production test equipment. As a key member of the engineering support team, the Avionics Staff Test Technician will engage in a wide range of independent assignments, collaborating closely with engineering teams to develop new hardware and software test solutions.

What You Will Do

Assemble test stations and rack-mounted hardware designs based on engineering drawings, providing constructive feedback to engineers to enhance designs. Perform software load procedures on test station computers, including installation of operating systems, proprietary software, equipment drivers, and configurations necessary for test station operation. Execute modifications to test assemblies, such as cable harnesses, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), test fixtures, and interchangeable test adapters (ITAs), to support engineering troubleshooting and development needs. Provide troubleshooting support to engineering teams, working collaboratively to resolve technical issues efficiently. Conduct Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) for test equipment, including self-test, ensuring all required test stamps are completed and documented. Support software verification runs to enable and validate software release processes. Assist with assembly build jobs during periods of increased demand to meet project schedules and delivery commitments.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

U. S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

  • Knowledge of test equipment and testing procedures.
  • Experience working with and modifying test hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
