Job Description
- We are looking for a Quality & Automation Engineer to elevate how we test, validate, and strengthen our cloud-based platform. This is a hands-on, highly technical role. You will execute manual testing where needed, but your primary focus will be building scalable automated testing systems using tools and leveraging AI to accelerate test creation, coverage expansion, and even bug remediation workflows.
- At Ascendco, we believe in continuous improvement, ownership, collaboration, and bringing energy to meaningful work. In this role, you will not just βtest features.β You will help invent and scale how quality is engineered into a platform that directly impacts surgical teams and patient care.

- Perform regression and smoke testing prior to releases.
- Reproduce, document, and verify bugs with clear, actionable detail.
- Validate fixes in staging and production environments.
- Automation & AI-Driven Testing
- Design and implement automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright (or similar modern frameworks).
- Build and maintain automated regression and smoke tests integrated into CI/CD workflows.
- Use AI tools to accelerate test case generation, improve coverage, and refactor brittle tests.
- Explore AI-assisted approaches to defect analysis, reproduction, and remediation suggestions.
- Continuously expand automated coverage for high-risk and high-impact workflows.
- Testing Architecture & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with developers to improve overall test coverage across layers of the stack.
- Contribute to technical discussions to ensure new features are designed with automation in mind.
- Improve the reliability and repeatability of test data and test execution environments.
- Guidance & Enablement
