Reporting to the Manager Customer Verification - AML CDD and EDD, you will lead your team delivering on key strategic, culture and operational goals. This is a great next step for someone with solid AML, CDD, and EDD expertise who is ready to lead a team.

In this role you will

• Lead, coach and develop a team of AML CDD and EDD Specialists to deliver high quality outcomes for our customers and Kiwibank.
• Establish KPIs and SLAs, monitor performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
• Run the team’s daily operations and manage the team’s workflow.
• Oversee AML/KYC activity for complex and higher‑risk customers.
• Apply strong knowledge of AML/CFT legislation and internal policy to ensure we consistently meet our obligations.
• Resolve complex customer and frontline escalations quickly and constructively.
• Build collaborative relationships across Enterprise Operations and the wider business to get great outcomes for customers.
• Provide clear reporting and insights into team performance to senior stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement, including process changes, Kanban practices and system enhancement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation, Promapp processes and training materials.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive team culture that reflects our Ngā Kauwaka values.

• 3–5 years’ banking experience, ideally in AML CDD and EDD
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, particularly for complex and higher‑risk entity structures
• Ability to lead and coach a high performing team
• Skilled at reporting, with data and communicating clearly with a range of stakeholders
• Capable of identifying, managing and escalating risks or issues in a timely way
• Collaborative, proactive approach, with strong attention to detail and resilience under pressure.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication
