Stack/tools: Honeywell DCS (C300, configuration/controls), Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix PLCs), DCS/SIS/PLC deliverables, control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, wiring diagrams, I/O loading, instrument datasheets; multi-vendor integration
Lead automation engineering across concept to handover (concept, FEED, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, validation)
Program/configure Honeywell DCS and Rockwell PLCs; deliver complete automation packages
Coordinate with engineering partners, contractors, OEMs, and project teams; support testing, site execution, and commissioning
11–15 years in process automation/control systems engineering or system programming
Degree required
Hands-on Honeywell DCS (C300) configuration and control logic development
Rockwell Automation ControlLogix programming/configuration
Ability to deliver full automation packages (not programming-only)
Willingness/ability to travel up to ~50% to US; Calgary-based (80 hr/9 days or travel/hybrid possible); valid driver’s license; ability to work in Canada and US
Experience with Yokogawa or Emerson DCS
Multi-vendor, multi-discipline project exposure
Background suitable for senior technical lead or senior hands-on engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Automation Engineer /Systems Programmer for a long term full time contract role based in Calgary, AB with cross border travel to be part of and contributing to significant project sites. This role is responsible for executing complex process automation and control systems projects across autonomous and advanced control environments. The focus is on hands-on delivery of automation solutions that support safe, efficient, and reliable operations across mining, onshore, and offshore facilities. This position requires a senior automation professional with Honeywell and Rockwell experience who can contribute across the full project lifecycle — from early concept and detailed engineering through construction support, commissioning, and handover.
