Role & seniority: Test Engineer SMT (mid-level to senior) reporting to the Director of Program Management, based in Guadalajara Norte.
Stack/tools: Python for test programs; instrument drivers; test hardware and interfaces for card-edge level tests; environmental/ESS testing; failure analysis; coordination with 3rd-party test development providers.
Top 3 responsibilities

Direct and coordinate electronic/test engineering activities for development, procurement, installation, calibration, and execution of tests and test data collection.

Develop, modify, and implement test programs, test plans, procedures, and diagnostic tests at the card-edge level; design/support test hardware and interfaces.

Interface with engineering teams to resolve testing issues; coordinate 3rd-party functional test development and ESS activities; perform failure analysis on environmental test data.
Must-have skills

Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced English.

Experience/Background in electronics or electronic testing.

Ability to develop instrument drivers and diagnostic tests; leadership for cross-functional teams and effective communication.

Experience with environmental stress screening (ESS) and environmental test programs.

Reporting to the Director, Program Management, the Test Engineer’s role involves: What a typical day looks like: Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing. Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, telemeter and record test data. Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations. Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues. Develops and/or modifies test programs using various languages like Python Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level. Develops test plans and procedures. Coordinates 3rd party development of functional test development, enhancements, test fixtures. Performs failure analysis on environmental test failures. Experience in electronic industry (desirable).
