Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, Selenium, and Test Automation Frameworks. The ideal candidate will design and develop robust automation frameworks, build scalable UI and API test suites, and contribute to delivering high-quality software in an agile environment.
- You will collaborate closely with Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient software delivery.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright (from scratch).
- Develop and execute automated UI test scripts using Playwright and Selenium.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable test scripts in TypeScript / Node.js and Core Java.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies.
- Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test strategies.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, defect reports, and documentation.
- Log and track defects using defect management tools.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of automation failures.
- Support cross-browser and parallel execution using cloud platforms.
- Collaborate effectively in both individual and team environments.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and automation.
- 3–6 years of experience in Selenium automation.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Playwright automation.
- Strong coding skills in Core Java and TypeScript / Node.js.
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts, collections, and data structures.
- Experience in building automation frameworks (POM, Hybrid, BDD, Keyword-driven).
- Experience with API automation (RestAssured or Python requests).
- Good understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Familiarity with SQL for data validation.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Basic exposure to Retail domain applications preferred.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)
- Advanced Playwright features (fixtures, auto-waiting, tracing).
- Experience with cloud-based cross-browser platforms (Browser Stack, Lambda Test).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker).
- Experience running automation at scale.
