Position Overview
A leading defense and mission systems organization is seeking an RF Test and Power Engineer to support manufacturing test engineering operations in Baltimore, MD. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys taking ownership of technical performance, test yield, and hardware delivery.
The selected candidate will support the development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of RF, digital, and power hardware used in complex systems. Responsibilities span hands-on testing, failure analysis, root cause/corrective action efforts, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, design, and program teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement test methods, test procedures, and test equipment
Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of RF, digital, and power hardware
Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and on-time hardware deliveries
Analyze test data to identify trends, yield detractors, and potential risks
Drive root cause and corrective action efforts for test failures and yield issues
Recommend and implement improvements to test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes
Collaborate closely with design engineering to implement hardware improvements
Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing test technicians, including troubleshooting and training
Monitor product yield performance and actively work to meet or exceed program yield targets
Participate in program and production meetings to report yields, issues, and corrective actions
Interface with manufacturing management, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, and program management teams
Required Qualifications –
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience
OR
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline and 3+ required years of relevant experience
Strong experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics, and block diagrams
Hands-on experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry
Experience using high-power test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
Proven experience troubleshooting power components and power systems
Active, current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
U. S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced engineering degree with a focus on power or RF systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience troubleshooting complex circuitry at the component or system level
Experience with LabWindows/CVI and C/C++ programming
Test stand development or programming experience
Proficiency with digital, analog, power, and RF test equipment
Strong understanding of RF theory and high-speed digital concepts
Demonstrated hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills
