About the Role We’re looking for a detail-oriented Functional Tester (SAP) to validate end-to-end business processes across core SAP modules. You’ll own test planning and execution, ensure traceability and coverage, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Setup Configure/maintain the test tool landscape for test design, execution, and reporting. Develop test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with release timelines and scope. Ensure requirements traceability (RTM) across test cases, defects, and releases. Test Design & Execution Design, review, and execute functional test cases and scenarios for SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI, PP). Facilitate and participate in peer reviews of test cases and test data. Perform functional, integration, regression, and UAT support testing. Quality Metrics & Reporting Define/align test metrics, KPIs, and SLAs (e.g., coverage, defect leakage, pass rate, cycle time). Track and report on test progress, coverage, defects, and baselines; publish daily/weekly status reports. Present Test Progress to stakeholders and obtain Test Sign-Off per release. Defect Management Log, triage, prioritize, and track defects to closure in the chosen test/ALM tool. Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, and business teams for resolution. Documentation & Governance Ensure structure and completeness of all testing artifacts (test plan, cases, data, results, traceability, closure report). Adhere to organizational QA processes, compliance, and audit readiness.
Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on manual functional testing, with a strong focus on SAP applications. Solid understanding of SAP business process flows and familiarity with key transaction codes.
Practical experience with one or more core SAP modules: SD, MM, FI, PP (others a plus). Proven ability to design, review, execute test cases and validate SAP functionality. Strong defect management skills—identification, documentation, lifecycle tracking, and follow-ups. Experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, JIRA (with Xray), SAP Solution Manager, or similar. Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), ceremonies, and collaborative testing. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills Exposure to SAP Solution Manager Test Suite, CBTA, Tricentis Tosca (for SAP), or UFT. Experience with test data management, test environments, and transport coordination. Knowledge of defect prevention techniques, risk-based testing, and shift-left practices. Basic understanding of IDocs, interfaces, batch jobs, and integration touchpoints with non-SAP systems. Experience in S/4HANA environments and Fiori app testing. ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification.
