Auxo is hiring an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) for a fast-growing fintech startup redefining how Canadians move money.
This company is building a next-generation social payment platform, smart, frictionless, and built for scale. After two years in stealth, the team is preparing to launch nationwide in partnership with major payment networks and Canadian universities. With strong backing and deep expertise across payments, banking, and compliance, they’re on a mission to make sending money as fun and intuitive as messaging.
This is a founding-quality role: their first SDET hire. You’ll build the QA foundation nearly from scratch, define automation standards, and embed testing excellence into every product release.
What You’ll Do Lead all quality assurance efforts from early manual testing to full automation. Design, build, and scale automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend services. Define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and performance benchmarks across the product lifecycle. Work closely with developers to embed QA into CI/CD workflows and catch issues before release. Build a testing culture by documenting processes, mentoring teammates, and championing best practices. Continuously improve release quality, stability, and system reliability through testing automation.
Who You Are 5+ years in QA, automation, or SDET roles Strong proficiency in TypeScript Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO. Familiar with Qase (or similar test case management tools). Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure environments. Strong analytical mindset and ability to identify root causes, not just symptoms. Excellent communicator who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative startup environments. Ownership-driven, comfortable operating independently in a near-greenfield environment.
