Salary: $25 - $42 / hour
Role & seniority: Fire safety inspection technician (entry to mid-level) focused on fire alarm and water-based systems.
Stack/tools: Proficiency with personal computers; ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, policies; familiarity with fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems; NICET certification path (Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems and Water-Based Systems within 1 year).
Conduct routine tests/inspections and document deficiencies; verify proper operation.
Prepare inspection/deficiency reports and communicate findings to management and customers.
Interface with service management for scheduling and with customers to explain work and resolve concerns; ensure customer satisfaction.
Prior experience inspecting fire alarm and/or sprinkler systems; strong attention to detail.
Proficient PC use; ability to read/interpret technical drawings and procedures.
Strong work ethic; ability to work in variable environments; safety-conscious.
Familiarity with fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems (broader industry experience).
Prior field experience with inventory management and on-site problem solving.
Full-time, on-call availability, travel required on short notice; outdoor and harsh environments possible.

Duties And Responsibilities
Conducts routine tests and inspections, documents deficiencies of fire alarm systems, fire safety systems, fire sprinkler systems and other fire safety product lines according to prescribed processes. Verifies proper operation; prepares accurate and timely documentation of work performed. Prepares inspection/ deficiency reports for submission to management. Interfaces with service management to ensure that all work is scheduled/handled. Interfaces with customers to explain work performed and answers their questions. Resolves customer concerns as quickly and effectively as possible. Must ensure customer satisfaction and a positive customer experience. Maintains and organizes truck inventory (parts and tools) to ensure proper response to customers’ needs. Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Must have a strong work ethic. Must be detail-oriented. Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills & Experience)
Minimum of High School/Vocational training. Experience inspecting fire alarm products, wet and dry fire sprinkler systems or industry-related experience. Must be proficient in the use and application of personal computers. Familiarity with fire sprinkler and fire alarm system preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics, diagrams, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English.
Certification/Licensing
Must obtain NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems and NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems within one (1) year Must obtain and retain any licenses and certifications that are required by state and/or local codes.

Physical Requirements
Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color. Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc. Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs. Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
Pay And Benefits Disclosure
The pay range for this role is $25.10 - $41.83 an hour and is based on experience and qualifications. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year. Your accrual rate increases after your first year. We also offer paid holidays.
