Role & seniority: Software Test Engineer 2 (mid-level)
Location & work type: Vancouver, BC – Hybrid; 18-month duration; CAD 25–30/hour
Stack/tools: Jira, DevTrack, TestRail (bug tracking/test planning); Confluence, SharePoint; Perforce; Unreal Engine (recommended); general QA tooling; familiarity with Gears of War preferred
Provide early testing support, create test documentation (cases, briefs, QA Confluence pages), and support Core QA activities
Communicate testing health and status to QA Leads, Dev, and Production teams; serve as primary QA team contact for design questions and testing asks
Assist with test planning, reproducibility of results, and adaptation to evolving content; facilitate status updates and test adjustments
Multiple development cycle experience with focus on Online PvP/PvE, campaigns, and core gameplay
Strong testing domains: match flow, combat/AI, multiplayer, maps/environment, performance/stability, mission flow, co-op/splitscreen, cinematics/narrative, saves/checkpoints
Proficiency with bug tracking and test planning tools; strong organization and documentation; excellent cross-team communication
Willingness to learn proprietary tools/pipelines and adapt quickly
Unreal Engine experience
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Perforce, SharePoint
Strong adaptable teaching skills; familiarity with multiplayer-focused Gears of War titles

Development Support The Development Support team member works with development teams to provide early testing, documentation creation (e.g. test cases and test briefs, QA Confluence pages), and handles basically anything that could potentially keep a Core QA team member out of the game. They provide feedback to the QA Leads on the health of their area/feature(s) and to the development team on the testing of their area/feature(s). They are the primary contact for our QA team, fielding design questions from Core QA and are the initial development teams first point of contact for asks on the status of testing, or to adjust the testing Core QA needs to complete. Requirements Multiple development cycle experience with a focus on Online PVP & PVE game modes, Campaign game modes, & Core Gameplay
Recommended Unreal Engine experience Jira, Confluence, Perforce and SharePoint experience Strong adaptable teaching skills (teaching to lots of different types of learners) Familiarity with the "Gears of War" series and multiplayer game modes.
