Role & seniority: Hardware Validation Lead (senior individual contributor with technical leadership experience; prefer leadership of large test programs)

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. 15 years of experience working in data center systems architecture, design, hardware bring-up and validation. Experience with leadership in defining test processes and solutions for large hardware organizations. Knowledge of data center and hardware design, testing and deployment methodologies and issues. Understanding of hardware architecture, electrical validation, including test methodologies for high speed interfaces, like Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), Compute Express Link (CXL), Ethernet and Double Data Rate (DDR). Ability to solve system issues, technical innovation and driving technical roadmaps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Design and evaluate system and subsystem hardware testing methodologies for data center hardware, covering electrical, functional, stress, and system-level testing. Assess, structure, and formulate best practices to improve validation for slow speed interfaces like SPI and I2C, and high speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, and DDR. Develop strategy and roadmap for test infrastructure and process to meet future technology and portfolio requirements while defining high level architecture for product hardware validation. Gather requirements, define high level architecture, execute strategy for product hardware validation. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to support deployment and field support. Collaborate with external technology and system partners, to understand capabilities and industry trends, and represent Google’s technical requirements with these partners. Partner with software development and validation teams on end-to-end qualification and verification strategy and planning.
