Must-have skills
Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering/math or related field with 5+ years in network automation/DevOps/network engineering or 8+ years in network automation
Linux experience; strong automation skills (Python, Go, shell/bash)
Experience with network automation, scalable asset management, and basic networking fundamentals
Nice-to-haves
Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IPv4/IPv6, streaming/media, voice, etc.)

IT NETWORK AUTOMATION ENGINEER SpaceX is looking for an experienced Network Automation Engineer to help build the tools necessary to support our large and growing network infrastructure. This employee will be a member of the IT Network Engineering team, which is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable and diverse network. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document their work, excel at multi-tasking and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.
Experience with networking protocols, their application and traffic types: TCP/IPv4/IPv6, gaming, voice, video, broadcast, streaming etc. Experience with source code and version control tools such as Git or Subversion Comfortable working with mission critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities Understanding of fundamental networking Experience with managing hundreds to thousands of network assets in an automated environment Experience with Puppet, Ansible, or other automation frameworks Ability to run projects independently Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers, peers, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
