Job Description
Renesas is seeking supplier quality engineer for its AI High Density Power Modules product families. The Subcontractor Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support of Supplier Quality Systems through identification and evaluation of key process metrics, verification of Renesas specific requirements, support of Quality and risk mitigation activities and continuous improvement. Additional responsibilities include serving as a regional liaison for subcontracted manufacturing operations and component (passives, inductors, substrate etc) suppliers providing support on Quality documentation and implementation of best-known-practices. This role ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed and assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards, such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO/TS16949 wherever applicable.
Responsibilities
Liaison between regional suppliers and Renesas Manage quality excursions and drive for effective root cause solutions and preventive actions Support process/material change process and site certification and audit activities Collaborate with component suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications for power modules. Support PCB assembly processes, with a focus on surface mount technology (SMT) and related manufacturing techniques. Identify quality trends, manage projects & influence teams to drive continuous improvement. Support best practice or lesson learn initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier quality. Ability to motivate others, remain focused and organized. Communicate with excellent written/verbal and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 10 years relevant experience in supplier quality management which includes supplier selection, ongoing quality improvement and manufacturing excursion response management. Working experience and knowledge of component suppliers (passive, substrate, inductor, capacitors etc). Proven experience in PCB assembly, especially surface mount technology (SMT). Experience in utilization of various problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why and fishbone analyses). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with internal cross functional groups. Understanding of standards ISO9001 and process audit methodology as well as quality tools FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.
