Role & seniority: NDT Engineer/Technician (NAS410 Level II) in Aerospace/Space, mid-to-senior level; on-site full-time with potential remote considerations.

Design, develop, and implement NDT methods; validate callouts on engineering drawings; prepare/revise NDT specifications and technique sheets.
Calibrate, align, modify, and maintain NDT equipment; perform evaluations including failure and methods analysis; audit NDT facilities.
Develop training material and train NDT inspectors and Level 1 technicians; mentor trainees; interface with manufacturing, engineering, programs, field personnel, and suppliers.
Aerospace NDT experience; NAS410 Level II certification in at least CT or DR (and/or other recognized methods).
BS in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
US Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance; strong communication/interpersonal skills.
Extensive knowledge of NDT equipment, methods, and procedures; ability to train/mentor others.
ASNT Level 3 (RT or other methods); additional certifications (MT, PT, ET, IRT, UT); valid radiation safety card/IRRSP.
Proficiency with NSI software, CT systems, Volum

Uses technical expertise in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) with industry certifications in one or more industry recognized methods, e.g. liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, ultrasonic testing, radiography testing, and visual testing. Provides technical support to manufacturing, engineering, programs, field personnel, and suppliers. Designs, develops, and implements NDT methods. Performs calibration and alignment checks, adjustments, modifications, and replacements. Performs evaluations including failure analysis, methods analysis, and inspection. Prepares, revises, and reviews NDT material/process specifications and NDT technique sheets including evaluation of supplier techniques/procedures. Designs and evaluates inspection reference standards. Audits NDT inspection facilities. Provides recommendations on specifications, capabilities, limitations, and benefits of NDT methods. Validates non-destructive callouts on engineering drawings. Develops course material and trains NDT inspectors in accordance with industry standards and company requirements. Prior certification (or the ability to certify) to ASNT, NAS 410, or equivalent in at least one of the industry recognized NDT methods.

Desired Skills
Aerospace NDT experience with current NAS410 Level II certification in Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Eddy Current (ET), Infrared Thermography (IRT) or Ultrasonic (UT) Testing
ASNT Level 3 certification in RT or other methods

Ability to interpret aerospace codes, procedures, and contracts governing LM Space NDT methods
Proficiency with North Star Imaging (NSI) software and CT systems
American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Experience interfacing with external/internal customers, including the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
Familiarity with AWS, NASA, MIL-STD, and ASTM standards
NDT experience of electronic components, welds, castings, composites, and additive manufactured components
Working knowledge of Volume Graphics, SAP, EPDM, and VECAMS software
