Design and deliver test equipment and end-to-end test solutions
Specify, select and integrate appropriate test equipment for complex products
Develop and execute robust hardware test cases aligned to system requirements; support lifecycle testing (development, integration, verification, validation)
Proven experience creating test systems and test hardware in an engineering environment
Strong hardware testing background and structured test case design
Experience selecting/specifying test equipment for complex products
Ability to operate across the full testing lifecycle and work independently within a contract model
Software integration experience (CVI, C, C++); NI TestStand; RF/microwave and LF/digital hardware integration
Hands-on, full hardware design lifecycle experience; knowledge of relevant product safety legislation
Experience supporting offsite/overseas test integration
Security clearance eligibility (BPSS; SC may be required)
Prior multi-disciplinary team delivery beyond isolated hardware work
Additional hands-on experience across diverse test environments or aerospace/defense domains

Contract Test Systems Engineer β Test Hardware 6β12 month contract

Your impact
Are you interested in developing test systems and test hardware for leading aerospace and defence projects? This contract role focuses on the creation of test equipment and end-to-end test solutions supporting complex, safety-critical systems. You will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, contributing hands-on expertise across the full test lifecycle, from requirements through to validation and support. Key responsibilities
Design and deliver test equipment and end-to-end test solutions Specify, select and integrate appropriate test equipment for complex products Develop and execute robust hardware test cases aligned to system requirements Support testing activities across the full lifecycle, including development, integration, verification and validation Collaborate with engineering, systems and programme stakeholders to ensure test solutions meet technical and operational needs Identify and resolve test-related issues, supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement
What you will bring
Proven experience creating test systems and test hardware within an engineering environment Strong background in hardware testing and structured test case design Experience selecting and specifying test equipment for complex products Comfortable operating across the full testing lifecycle Ability to work independently within a contract delivery model while collaborating effectively with wider teams
