Maintain and continuously improve the Ansible-based Automation Platform A8N
Monitor evolution of Ansible/AWX/GitLab and adapt the platform; design solutions with teams to automate processes
Ensure technical requirements for new and existing features; act as a reliable, goal-oriented automation contributor
Strong Linux expertise; several years as a systems engineer
Experience designing, configuring, and automating Linux systems
Proficiency with at least one automation tool (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, etc.)
Understanding of Ansible strengths/weaknesses; CI as a quality enabler
Scripting in Bash or Python; networking knowledge (BGP, VRRP, IPv4/IPv6)

System Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

As an Automation Engineer you will be responsible for our Ansible based Automation platform with focus on constant improvements and creating possibilities for other teams to align their processes to this platform. As a team of highly motivated colleagues we focus on efficient processes and possibilities in order to create and ensure technical requirements and conditions for new but also already existing features. Our claim is to be at the leading edge of technology and always strive for the best solution.
#PROFILE
In 2019, we created our Automation Platform A8N, a system which enables our teams to automate system-related processes. Your primary task is the maintenance of this platform including ongoing improvements. You monitor the evolution of Ansible, AWX and Gitlab and adapt our platform to them. In addition to this you have the possibility to develop and design solutions in cooperation with our teams in order to automate processes. As a reliable team member you act responsibly, are goal oriented and set a good example in terms of automation.

You have solid and proven Linux expertise, several years of experience as a system engineer and have already implemented processes in your career Design, configuration and automation of new Linux systems should be easy for you and you also master demanding challenges with confidence You are familiar with at least one solution for automation (Ansible, Puppet, Salt,..) You are aware of strengths and weaknesses of Ansible (first experience already gained) You regard continuous integration as a must for sustainable quality assurance Own scripts in bash or Python make your daily business life easier You have knowledge with networks (BGP, VRRP and IPv&) You work independently, are a real team player, are goal and future oriented, and are not afraid to break new ground and learn from your mistakes.
