Other Available Locations: N/ARequirements: Must have a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering and five (5) years of experience in automation engineering optimizing steel processes and machinery. Experience must include: Developing control systems utilizing programmable logic controller (PLC)/Human Machine Interface (HMI) platforms including Siemens S7, TIA Portal and programming packages. Industrial process automation networking to connect equipment and devices for data communication and control (ie; Ethernet IP, Profinet, Profibus, etc.) Configuring, troubleshooting and using Windows Operating Systems, Networking, virtualization and Databases for Control System Applications. Designing, implementing, and configuring new automation systems, upgrading older machinery to new control platforms and upgrading existing manufacturing lines. Developing and troubleshooting Xpact Logicad system, and XHMI.Job Duties: Automate and optimize steel processes and machinery. Responsible for the design, implementation, and configuration of new automation systems for steel manufacturing, upgrading older machinery to new control platforms and upgrading existing manufacturing lines. Support Level 1 Automation Engineering systems. Increase efficiency within level 1 automation systems and ensure the optimum performance of equipment for plant operations through continual improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot and modify level 1 systems including PLCs, HMIs, industrial communication networks, distributed remote I/O, drives and motor controls, hydraulic controls, etc. Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance and Production teams to optimize the Rolling Mill steel processes and develop/implement future improvement plans. Develop control systems utilizing programmable logic controller (PLC)/Human-Machine Interface (HMI) platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7, and TIA Portal. Design, develop, program, implement, and fine tune control loops and motor for process optimization. Responsible for industrial process automation networking to connect equipment and devices for data communication and control (ie; Ethernet IP, Profinet, Profibus, etc.) Promote a safe attitude for the development and implementation of electronic control systems for mechanical systems. Configure and troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems, Networking, virtualization and Databases for Control System Applications. Research and design automation technology to track tasks and expenses in project management, scheduling and planning. Create project engineering, detailing, execution plan, resource management and timeline using MS projects. Develop and troubleshoot Xpact Logicad system, and XHMI. Administer, maintain, develop, and troubleshoot the process supervisory systems and production network. Responsible for the software and hardware maintenance and security of these systems as well as database operations and development utilizing SQL Server and Oracle.
