Salary: C$20 - C$27 / hour
Role & seniority: Quality Engineer Developer - Co-op (4- or 8-month term); entry-level to early-career, structured as a coop position.
Stack/tools: C, C#, Microsoft stack (ASP.NET, MVC, Web API), Angular; SQL Server; DevOps (Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines); AI/pair programming tools (GitHub Copilot); potential use of Microsoft Power Platform.
Design, develop, and maintain internal tools and applications to support testing and releases; build a central dashboard integrating multiple applications with live data.
Collaborate with Solutions Delivery teams to gather requirements, ensure security standards, and create maintainable code; participate in code reviews and documentation.
Explore and integrate AI/innovative tooling, create proof-of-concept projects, stay current with industry trends.
Software development experience with C#, Angular, and the Microsoft tech stack.
Strong object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SQL Server/ database development.
Web tech experience (ASP.NET, MVC, Web API); problem-solving, attention to detail; good communication and teamwork.
Familiarity with DevOps practices/tools (Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines).
AI pair programming familiarity (GitHub Copilot); knowledge of Azure cloud.

The role: 4 or 8-month Co-Op term
As a Quality Engineer Developer - Co-op, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support various teams and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients and enhance our banking services.
Design and develop evolving internal tools and software applications using C, C#, and the Microsoft technology stack that support application testing and releases. Design and develop a central tool that integrates different applications into a single dashboard view, providing live information to users. Leverage and integrate AI and other tooling into current and new solutions. Collaborate with different teams within Solutions Delivery to gather requirements; ensure security standards and requirements are incorporated into all solutions. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards. Create and maintain documentation on solutions being built. Take part in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and innovative. Create proof of concept projects to explore new systems and technology.
Actively participate in Quality Engineering team meetings. Provide solution options to reporting manager. Participate and collaborate with other teams within Solutions Delivery in building scripts and solutions.
Software development experience with a focus on C#, Angular, and the Microsoft technology stack. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience with database design and development, particularly with SQL Server. Familiarity with web development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps and YAML Pipeline templates. Familiarity with AI pair programming practices using tools such as GitHub Copilot Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Azure.

Salary Range: CAD $20 - $27/hour
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: St. Catharines Corporate Office with the ability to travel to our Toronto Corporate office as needed. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
