Overview
We are looking for an experienced Wireless Field Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience using field testing tools and working with mobile network technologies. This role involves field interoperability testing, device validation, troubleshooting, and preparing detailed engineering reports. Travel is required for field testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Execute field interoperability tests, mobility tests, and driving test cases. Prepare devices for field testing, including software setup and tool configuration. Test and troubleshoot wireless hardware, software, and embedded systems. Perform sanity, stability, functionality, stress, and feature testing on various wireless devices. Conduct lab tests and evaluate new mobile products and accessories. Simulate customer usage scenarios to validate product features. Analyze test results and generate engineering reports to ensure product compliance. Identify, document, and track software defects. Create or revise test routes based on network changes or new features. Design, code, and maintain automation test scripts using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages. Work with AI/ML platforms and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face). Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide daily field test updates. Ensure all testing aligns with established standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of experience in telecommunications or technical engineering. Hands-on experience with field test tools such as QXDM, QCAT, TEMS, Nemo, or similar. Experience with mobile technologies such as CDMA, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR. Experience with post-processing tools like Actix, WindCatcher, XCAL, or XCAP. Prior mobile device testing experience preferred. Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. Experience with scripting languages (Python/JavaScript) for automation. Experience with AI/ML tools and platforms is strongly preferred. Experience running FIT test plans for major U.S. carriers is a plus. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Travel up to 30% required.
