Stack/tools: Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems; automation equipment and services; vendor/supplier management
Lead and manage automation projects from concept through completion (scope, schedule, budget)
Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize automation systems; provide technical leadership and project documentation; train staff
Degree in Automation, Engineering, or related technical field (4-year preferred; 2-year with experience considered)
Experience maintaining/supporting automation in industrial/manufacturing; heavy industry experience (steel preferred)
Proficiency with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs; strong electrical/controls/automation troubleshooting; effective communication
Programming experience (C/C++/C#/VB.Net) is a plus but not required

Position: Process Automation Project Engineer (Muscatine, IA)
This is a direct-hire position.
What you will be doing as a Process Automation Project Engineer…
Lead and manage automation projects from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
Collaborate closely with operators, maintenance teams, and cross-functional departments to identify and implement process improvements
Specify, source, and manage vendors and suppliers for automation equipment and services
Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize automation systems and equipment
Drive improvements related to systems such as water-cooling systems and reheating systems
Provide technical leadership, documentation, and project ownership to ensure quality and reliability
Train and mentor operators and technical staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Process Automation Project Engineer…
Degree in Automation, Engineering, or a related technical field
Four-year degree preferred; two-year degree with relevant experience considered
Experience maintaining and supporting automation systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Automation experience in heavy industry; steel industry experience is strongly preferred
Proficiency with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across electrical, controls, and automation systems
Effective communication skills with the ability to work with operators, maintenance teams, interpreters, and external suppliers
Any programming language such as C, C++, C# or VB.Net programming would be a plus, but not required.
