Role Overview Elcomponics Aerob is seeking an experienced Fixed Wing UAV Test Pilot to join our flight test and product validation team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in both manual and autonomous flight operations and possess a strong engineering mindset to help elevate our UAV platforms.
Note that the hiring process includes a rigrous on site flying test.
Key Responsibilities Execute structured flight test plans for fixed-wing UAVs in manual and autonomous modes Conduct pre-flight assembly, integration, and systems validation of UAV platforms Evaluate flight performance characteristics (stability, control, mission behavior) Identify, analyze, and report flight-related issues and suggest actionable improvements Work closely with R&D, avionics, and systems teams to enhance product reliability Maintain rigorous documentation of flight logs, test results, and safety observations Uphold aviation safety and compliance standards during all flight operations
What We’re Looking For Experience & Skills 1–3 years of fixed-wing UAV flight test experience Proficient in both manual piloting and autonomous mission execution Strong ability to detect performance anomalies and provide structured feedback Hands-on background with UAV integration, assembly, and pre-flight processes Experience with Ardupilot (Arduplane) or PX4 based UAVs Must have Experience with Manual, FBWA, FBWB, Cruise and other manual modes. Preffered Hobbyists pilots with a dense and deep background, even if without a formal education on the subject Must have in depth knowledge about types of aircrafts, control surfaces, practical flow dynamics. Educational Background Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field Attributes Meticulous attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communicator within cross-functional teams
