Role: Site Continuous Improvement Engineer (entry-to-mid level), reporting to Site Director of Operations and Site CI Leader
Lean manufacturing methods; time studies (MTM, MOST)
Data analysis and problem-solving
CAD (SolidWorks) beneficial

Summary: Serves as a resource for the Site Director of Operations and the Site Continuous Improvement Leader in achieving site objectives for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement. Resolves questions or concerns regarding individual part processes. Improves current processes and conducts investigations to reduce inefficiencies. Safety is #1 at BTD: Our expectation is that every employee: 1) Strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods. 2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety. Essential Functions: Identify and eliminate safety and quality risks and root causes. Utilize time studies or pre-determined timing methods such as MTM or MOST to validate setup and run times. Assist with lean manufacturing initiatives and product flow improvements. Evaluate historical data on run rates to determine accuracy. Assist in creation and evaluation of cost reductions. Assist in investigating best tools, machining, fabrication, welding methods to ensure a quality product at an appropriate cost. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be enrolled in a Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations Management program at a two or four year college or university, progressing toward a bachelor's degree. Experience and Skills Required: Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and cause prevention (error proofing) skills. Ability to work independently and show strong initiative and ownership of ideas and projects. Strong computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. CAD (Solid Works) experience is beneficial. Prior manufacturing, especially fabrication and welding, experience is beneficial The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Compensation Salary Range: Paygrade OTC4 ($20.65 - $28.89) *The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-re ated knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
