Role & seniority: Contract/temporary Patient Access/Authorization Coordinator (entry to mid-level administrative role)
Stack/tools: EPIC for patient intake, demographics updates, and pre-registration; insurance verification; authorization workflow; claims processing; referrals handling; coordination with case managers and physician offices
Confirm patient insurance coverage, verify demographics, and collect information to support appropriate reimbursement
Identify and secure necessary authorizations for treatment and beds; process referrals
Handle claims and pre-authorization requests; discuss patient financial responsibility and collect co-pays
Proficiency with EPIC and standard patient intake workflows
Knowledge of medical terminology and authorization/claims processes
Strong communication with physicians’ offices, other ministries, and remote locations
Ability to verify insurance types (HMO/PPO, Medicare/Medicaid) and assist with pre-registration
Experience in multi-location coordination or remote-site support
Familiarity with patient financial counseling and co-pay discussions

Description
Confirm patient insurance coverage, identify potential authorization needs for treatment, and collect patient demographics and medical information to ensure appropriate patient account reimbursement
Utilizing EPIC for patient intake and updating / verifying demographics Authorizing patients for beds Handle claims, request authorizations, and attach referrals Identify services requiring authorization for treatment and referral information Verify Patient Insurance and input correct options for pre-registration
