Job Summary

The Area Quality Assurance & Monitoring Specialist serves as the regional subject matter expert on quality standards, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices. This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities across multiple locations within the assigned area to ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.

The Specialist conducts routine audits, monitoring reviews, and compliance assessments; analyzes findings; and partners with operational leadership to implement corrective action plans that drive continuous improvement. Acting as a trusted advisor to Area and Program Directors, this role provides guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent application of policies and high-quality service delivery across all centers.

The Area Quality Assurance & Monitoring Specialist identifies trends, mitigates risk, and promotes a culture of accountability and excellence. Through proactive monitoring and collaboration, this position ensures regulatory readiness, strengthens operational performance, and safeguards the integrity of services delivered throughout the area.

Essential Functions

Serve as the area subject matter expert on regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies.

Conduct scheduled and unannounced audits, record reviews, and compliance monitoring activities.

Evaluate processes and documentation to ensure compliance across all assigned centers.

Develop, track, and follow up on corrective action plans to address identified deficiencies.

Analyze data and trends to identify systemic risks and recommend process improvements.

Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to leadership and staff on quality and compliance standards.

Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, risk levels, and improvement recommendations.

Partner with Program Directors to ensure sustained compliance and operational excellence.

Support regulatory surveys, licensing reviews, and accreditation visits.

Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and accountability across the area.

Provides guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members

Ensures adherence to best practices and standards of care.

Keeps New Season informed, through the Program Director or Regional Director, of any significant treatment events that occur in their respective area and makes prudent recommendations to address the same.

Travels to multiple locations providing face-to-face supervision/training

Reports patient abuse, neglect, and exploitation as required.

Ensures the reading and understanding of the Policy and Procedures Manual.

Ensures compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 (Federal Confidentiality Regulations) and 45 CFR, Parts 160 & 164 (HIPAA)

Responsible for obtaining or maintaining proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements.

Always acts in the best interests of the program and company; honors, supports, and protects the proprietary data and rights of the company.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of the State’s regulations for the area of oversight. Previous experience in compliance and quality assurance is preferred, but not required.

Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in compliance or direct care of the SUD population.

Skill and Ability: Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills,be able to multitask, prioritize, must be dependable and reliable.
