Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will be integral in ensuring our products conform to standards and exceed customer expectations. You will collaborate with various departments such as quality, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to continuously improve processes and products. This role offers personal and professional growth opportunities in a fun and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Provide quality leadership for assigned value stream/product line(s) and work cross-functionally to enhance quality and quality systems. Ensure conformance to control plans and capability to specifications using statistical process control and data analysis. Provide reports and data on key metrics and lead targeted improvement efforts. Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem-solving. Perform or assist with PPAP, gauge R&R, pFMEA, and process mapping on assigned product line(s). Qualify changes to product, process, equipment, and gauges, and assist with equipment troubleshooting. Train and coach associates on quality systems, specifications, and expectations. Develop, improve, and evaluate test methods and associated instruments/gauges. Conduct quality investigations, write CAPAs and deviations, and assess non-conforming material.
Essential Skills
BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field. A minimum of 3 years of quality work experience. Passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement. Ability to interpret quality requirements from drawings/specifications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint. Root cause analysis expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, continuous process environment. Working knowledge of quality systems, standards, measurement tools, and inspection systems. Knowledge of pFMEA, SPC, CAPA, process capability, and Lean manufacturing principles. Lean or Six Sigma knowledge and practice. Minitab and PowerBI skills. ASQ Quality Engineer certification. Time management skills. Mechanical inclination.
Work Environment
The work environment is in a manufacturing plant specializing in aluminum storm doors, producing approximately 500,000 units per year. The Quality Engineer will work with all departments, particularly with a team of inspectors and one technician. The role presents a fantastic opportunity to influence the quality group within one of our highest volume plants, with room for growth and potential to lead the quality team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Luray, Virginia.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.82 - $64.42/hr.
