Full Description

We are looking for a skilled Playwright Test Automation Engineer to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for our web applications using Playwright to ensure web application quality, reliability, and performance.

In this role, you will

Design and develop automated tests for web applications using Playwright. Implement automated testing frameworks using Playwright, Rest Assured, and SoapUI to increase testing efficiency and coverage. Lead the development and execution of test strategies and plans to ensure the highest quality standards in software development. Oversee the integration of Jenkins, GitHub Copilot, and Gitlab to streamline continuous integration and deployment processes. Provide expertise in AWS and Azure to enhance cloud-based testing environments and improve scalability. Utilize Docker for containerization to ensure consistent testing environments across various platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring seamless software delivery. Monitor and report on testing progress, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in Life and Annuities Insurance.

Required Skills

Overall 10+ years of hands-on automation testing experience with recent experience (2+ years) in Playwright automation. Must have strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for writing automated tests with Playwright. Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in API automation testing using Rest Assured, and SoapUI. Knowledge in Appian OR any other workflow tool is a mandatory need along with automation skillset in Playwright/Selenium. Possess strong experience with Jenkins, GitHub Copilot, and Gitlab for continuous integration and deployment. Demonstrate proficiency in AWS and Azure for cloud-based testing environments. Have expertise in Docker for containerization and consistent testing environments. Have a solid Insurance domain knowledge.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge in Java and Selenium is an added advantage. Good understanding of Life and Annuities Insurance domain.

Total Compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 90,000 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, province.
