About The Role
As a Senior Automation Engineer with Wealth Management experience, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of Wealth and Asset Management technology platforms through advanced automated testing practices. You will be a valued member of a cross‑functional delivery team and work closely with developers, product owners, and cloud engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions for financial services clients.
In This Role, You Will
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks using Selenium, Java, TestNG, and CI/CD tools. Drive automation strategy across Wealth Management applications, including retirement products and segregated funds. Develop and execute end‑to‑end test plans, test cases, and regression suites to validate business and technical requirements. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, and containerized environments (Docker). Perform API testing using RestAssured and SoapUI to ensure data accuracy and system interoperability. Validate applications deployed in AWS and Azure cloud environments, ensuring stability and scalability. Analyze test results, identify quality risks, and present actionable insights and reports to stakeholders. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve defects, improve test coverage, and support timely releases. Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in automation, testing standards, and quality engineering. Continuously improve testing processes and contribute to innovation in test automation and delivery efficiency.

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite in a Cognizant or client office in Toronto, ON.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered
Overall 6-10 years of hands-on experience in automation framework development. Strong experience in automated testing using Selenium, Java, and TestNG. Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab. Proven expertise in API testing using RestAssured and SoapUI. Experience working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments. Solid understanding of Docker and modern DevOps practices. Domain experience in Wealth or Asset Management, including retirement products and segregated funds. Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional Agile teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
These will help you stand out
Experience using Cucumber for behavior‑driven development (BDD). Familiarity with Wealth Management platforms such as Unitrax or similar systems. Experience implementing test automation at scale within enterprise financial services environments. Strong mentoring skills and a passion for building a culture of quality. Exposure to modern testing practices aligned with regulatory and compliance standards in financial services.
Total Compensation
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 57,150 to 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
