The Position
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background
The Analysis, Debrief, and Test (ADT) Branch supports the development, integration, and testing of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Technical Baseline (JTB) product suite. The software products comprising the JTB support modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoW agencies and their international partners. All products are government owned, developed, and managed.
The Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) is a high-fidelity simulation environment comprised of numerous interconnected software products. As a Software Component Tester, you will be responsible for the comprehensive testing of individual software products in a standalone configuration, ensuring they are functionally sound and meet baseline performance metrics before they are integrated into the larger JSE Technical Baseline (JTB). Log test execution results and report defects in Jira.

Must-haves
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Engineering or a technical discipline relevant to the functional description OR High School diploma/Equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education 3 years of relevant work experience 3 years of experience in component-level testing of individual software modules ensuring software products meet baseline performance metrics for standalone functions and capabilities prior to system integration Experience using command-line tools, batch/shell scripts and stubs or mocks to validate behavior and interfaces for pre-integration Experience developing test plans and test cases Proficiency working within Linux-based environments Knowledge of DevOps environment and CI/CD pipelines (Ex. Bitbucket, Gitlab, Azure, DevOps, etc.) Experience utilizing emulators to support software testing and validation activities Proficiency in creating technical documentation using tools (Markdown or similar platforms ) Experience creating, managing and maintaining defect tracking databases (Ex. Jira)) Experience identifying, documenting and communicating software defects to development teams The ability to participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, acceptability criteria, operational characteristics, product designs and schedules AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance-The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Physical Environment And Working Conditions
The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
