Full Description
Canvas is seeking a Test Engineer! This position supports the Air Force with developmental testing of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. As a developmental Test Engineer, you will plan, execute, analyze, and report test activities to evaluate weapon system performance. This position will focus on payloads developmental testing and acquisition.
Duties
Duties will include, but are not limited to
Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures based on system requirement specifications. Identify and define test resources, equipment, and instrumentation required for testing. Participate in system requirements and design reviews. Coordinate with external stakeholders (prime contractors, facilities, government entities, etc.) for test planning and execution. Brief government leadership on test plan methodology and associated test and safety risks. Oversee test execution and data collection activities. Analyze test data in accordance with a developed data analysis plan to evaluate performance against system requirements. Document system deficiencies and determine root cause analysis. Prepare test reports summarizing test results, conclusions, and recommendations regarding system performance. Present findings to technical stakeholders and programmatic decision-makers in the form of briefings and reports. Identify opportunities to improve test processes, procedures, and methodologies. Adhere to all regulations and company policies related to safety, security, and compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field. *Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval. 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience with DoD weapon systems, acquisition lifecycle, and developmental testing as it relates to systems engineering. Experience with specification requirement verification, including functional, performance and interface testing. Experience with statistical methods to determine test sample sizing and performance uncertainty. Experience with selecting instrumentation to collect test data. Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines. Utilize resources effectively to accomplish work, including ability to work effectively alone and within a group. Personal and organizational interactions exhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customers. Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and appropriate for the audience.
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
Desired Experience
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field. 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience working with DoD organizations, test organizations, and defense contractors. Experience working in a secured facility handling classified information. Familiarity with development and fielding of ICBM weapon systems. Systems engineering experience on a major defense acquisition program, including understanding methodologies and best practices. Familiarity with model-based systems engineering methods and tools such as Cameo and IBM DOORS. Experience with electro optical/infrared systems and/or radar.
