Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist Project and Senior Project Managers with administrative tasks during the design, pre-construction, and construction phases of project management. This role involves managing scope, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and the bidding process, as well as overseeing the work of the design team.
Responsibilities
Work directly with the Project Management team to manage and estimate construction projects. Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Review drawings for accuracy. Assemble necessary details for job bid proposals. Develop relationships with sub-contractors and interact with them to secure necessary information for job bids. Support the Project Manager in collecting information to complete the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) report. Assist with projecting and adhering to job budgets and timelines. Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues. Control project costs by recommending expenditures and administering contractor contracts. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Travel to job site locations to review progress and provide solutions to challenges. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Update project databases by maintaining construction systems. Be available to support the Project Manager in responding to customer inquiries. Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed. Manage project financials, administration, implementation, and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects. Oversee the implementation and management of HVAC equipment projects, ensuring accountability for scope of work and schedules. Manage a portfolio of projects, including both smaller and larger multi-building or complex construction projects. Manage project scope, cost, and schedule by reviewing contract documents and establishing customer expectations. Compare estimated ship dates with contractor’s project schedule to ensure compliance with internal equipment ordering processes. Maintain the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and control expenses by monitoring project budgets.
Essential Skills
Project management experience in construction. Experience in construction management and commercial construction. HVAC and mechanical engineering knowledge. Experience in project engineering, estimation, and project scheduling. Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

Experience with project schedules and PM construction software. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with a proactive approach. Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment. Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management.

This position involves working in an office environment with on-site visits to project locations. The role offers the opportunity to interface with executives of a Fortune 500 company and exposure to state-of-the-art data centers. The environment is dynamic, with ongoing projects expected for the next 3+ years.
