The Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join a programme within a Test and Measurement capability team. You will work closely with the Systems Engineers to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support large-scale testing environments.
This role focuses on developing the core software components and applications that drive the data acquisition, processing, and control systems used in testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in modern software development practices, CI/CD automation, and cross-platform (Windows/Linux) environments.
Design, develop, and maintain core software applications to support engine testing and measurement systems. Write efficient, reliable, and scalable code in C++, C#, and Python to ensure long-term software functionality and maintainability. Develop, automate, and manage build and release pipelines using Azure DevOps. Contribute to the overall software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation. Implement CI/CD best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality code delivery. Collaborate closely with the Systems Integration Engineer to align software components with hardware and data system requirements. Work within on-premise environments and deploy software solutions to test beds rather than local development environments. Support cross-platform development on both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience
Proven experience in software development using C++, C#, and Python. Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and development best practices. Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for build, release, and CI/CD automation. Experience developing in both Windows and Linux Knowledge of source control, testing frameworks, and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube). Familiarity with on-prem deployment and system integration within controlled environments.
Desirable Attributes
Understanding of test and measurement systems or embedded software.
