Job Description
As an Emissions Testing Technician, you will join project teams to conduct third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring at industrial and manufacturing sites. This role involves transporting equipment using a company vehicle, setting up and breaking down testing equipment, recording data, collecting samples, and assisting engineers in air quality testing procedures.
Responsibilities
Conduct third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring. Transport equipment to various sites using a company vehicle. Set up and break down testing equipment efficiently. Record data accurately and collect samples for analysis. Assist engineers in air quality testing procedures. Calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot equipment during office work. Comply with safety requirements, including shaving facial hair for respirator equipment use. Work at heights between 75-200 feet as needed.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Mechanical aptitude and an interest in building and using hands-on skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degrees in geology or other relevant fields are considered. Entry-level position with opportunities for growth within a large company.
Work Environment
This position involves primarily fieldwork at refineries and other industrial and manufacturing facilities to test EPA emissions. The role includes 75% fieldwork and 25% office work, where you will calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot equipment. Be prepared to work at heights and ensure compliance with safety standards, including the use of respirator equipment. A company vehicle is provided for travel to and from job sites, and per diem and lodging are covered when traveling.
