Role & seniority: Software Design Engineer, contract; ~5–7 years in related low-level/firmware roles; mid-to-senior level.
Stack/tools: C, C++, Python; Windows Server and Ubuntu Server; test automation, CI/CD pipelines; hardware diagnostics; test harness development; collaboration across open-source/internal codebases.
Design, deploy, and manage test machines on Windows and Linux servers.
Execute detailed test plans, perform diagnostics, troubleshoot issues; develop automated test harnesses.
Write/modify code (C/C++, Python) to support testing; produce comprehensive technical test reports; collaborate with development teams.
Strong C programming (native/driver level) and Python for development/automation.
5–7+ years in low-level firmware or device-driver development.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and validation automation.
Familiarity with Rust (willingness to learn).

Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required Skills
Strong foundational knowledge and experience in C programming (for native/driver level code).
Strong experience in Python (for development and automation).
Minimum 5-7 years of experience focusing on low-level firmware/device driver development.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and validation automation.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Familiarity with the Rust programming language (willingness to learn is essential).
Experience working with "big iron" server hardware (Intel, AMD, ARM blades).
Direct data center experience.
Knowledge of server client relationships and hardware configurations.
