Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a strong Network Test engineer to join a growing team within the fiber world. The core focus will come from supporting NetEng teams; design and testing efforts by maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the network data. You will partner with other team members to best align with workflow, there will be a test tracker used to help with alignment. This is a chance to work on new service testing, new software testing and of course new hardware testing. We need candidates with a open mind to learn and grow and work well with others.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for networking equipment and networking features. Set up, configure, and troubleshoot complex multi-vendor networking lab environments that mimic live networks. Validate performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise and service provider networking solutions. Develop Python-based automation scripts and frameworks to improve test efficiency and coverage. Conduct system-level testing across Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and related technologies. Perform traffic generation and analysis using tools such as Ixia/Keysight. Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to identify, debug, and resolve issues. Document test cases, results, and defects with high clarity and detail.

Qualifications
Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 7+ years of hands-on experience in network testing or qualification.
Strong knowledge of L2/L3 protocols: Ethernet, VLANs, STP, IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, QoS. Solid background with Enterprise or ISP-grade network design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Demonstrate strong ability to set up, configure, and troubleshoot complex, large-scale network environments across multi-vendor platforms (Nokia, Cisco, Arista, Ciena, Juniper, etc) Proficiency in Python for test automation (Pytest or similar frameworks). Hands-on experience with traffic generators and analyzers (Ixia/Keysight preferred). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills Experience with cloud networking technologies (GCP, AWS, etc). Knowledge of Linux-based test environments and shell scripting. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test integration. Familiarity with optical transport technologies (DWDM, OTN, Ethernet over optics). CCIE, JNCIE certification a plus
