The IT Quality Assurance Specialist builds upon the foundation established at the Associate level by taking ownership of more complex testing processes, contributing to automation efforts, and mentoring junior team members. Working within agile teams, this role focuses on designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, analyzing defects, and ensuring alignment with quality standards.
The IT Quality Assurance Specialist collaborates with developers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable software that meets the needs of the business and its members.
Essential Functions
Quality Assurance Design, create, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts for complex software systems. Own regression testing processes, maintaining and improving automated testing frameworks. Conduct manual and automated testing for mobile, browser, and desktop applications, focusing on performance, functionality, and security. Lead defect analysis and collaborate with developers to resolve issues efficiently. Collaboration and Agile Practices Participate in agile ceremonies, providing quality input during sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives. Work with Product Owners and developers to refine requirements and ensure testability. Mentor junior QA team members, providing guidance on best practices and tools. Metrics and Reporting Analyze and report key quality metrics, including defect rates, test coverage, and performance trends. Provide actionable insights to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in quality processes. Job Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including manual and automated testing. Experience with Jira or equivalent Scrum management tools for defect tracking and sprint planning. Proficiency with Postman, SoapUI or equivalent API testing tools and frameworks. Experience with mobile, browser, or desktop application testing in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Strong understanding of test automation tools and frameworks. Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions or similar platforms. Knowledge of performance testing and advanced automation testing techniques. Familiarity with tools for automated build and deployment testing. Experience in the financial services industry, specifically with credit union systems such as Symitar. Overall knowledge of Symitar software, Delta Community Credit Union procedures and policies.
