This is a general application for individuals interested in joining our team as a Test Prep or Academic Mentor for an area in which we are not currently hiring. ESM Prep often looks to hire experienced mentors in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Overview ESM Prep is a group of passionate educators seeking new Test Prep Mentors excited to work at the intersection of education and business. Founded in 2010, we have created a supportive and dynamic learning environment that fosters growth and success for our students. Today, ESM Prep is part of Guidewell Education, a newly-formed, mission-driven company representing a range of successful legacy brands in the education space. Our family of brands includes Applerouth Education, Summit Educational Group, College Match Point, UES, Metro Academic Prep, and Launch Precollege Labs. Together, ESM and these brands provide a full suite of services including academic tutoring, college counseling, executive function coaching, and test preparation to students across the world. Job Description. Mentors will assist students one-on-one in preparing for college by readying them for the ACT and SAT exams and potentially other academic subjects, as well. We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree‍
• Prior experience teaching ACT/SAT. A past score or a score from a diagnostic test taken during the application process may be required
• Must be able to tutor in person in one of our markets or virtually 2 to 3 times a week
• Additional expertise in tutoring multiple high school subjects
• Available part-time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3 pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday. Although the majority of the work is online, you must be available for in-person tutoring in students' homes
• Available to tutor through a full school year or longer
• Reliable internet access

Compensation/Benefits

wage: $60-$70/hr (academic tutoring in high school subjects starts at $60/hr while test prep tutoring starts at $70/hr) non-taxed reimbursement for travel to students' homes additional compensation for training and administrative functions flexible schedule opportunity for some remote work pathway to full-time – based on experience, performance, and subject range employee discount program
