Job Summary: ClearBridge Investments is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer who also possesses robust data analysis capabilities to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and transform raw data into actionable insights. This hybrid role involves ensuring data reliability and accessibility while also performing deep-dive analysis to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but not Limited to: Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources. Data Modeling and Architecture: Design and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures (relational, NoSQL, data lakes, data warehouses) to support analytical and operational use cases. Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations, translating complex technical findings into clear, non-technical business recommendations for stakeholders. Collaboration and Stakeholder Support: Partner closely with QA engineers, analysts, product managers, and executive teams to understand data requirements and assist with data-related technical issues. Data Quality and Governance: Implement quality checks, validation rules, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all data assets. Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize data storage and retrieval processes and SQL queries for maximum performance and cost efficiency. Documentation and Best Practices: Document data pipelines, schemas, and business logic, and advocate for best practices in data engineering and data governance. Qualifications and Experience 3-5+ years in data engineering or related roles, with proven data analysis experience. Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics. Experience working within the Asset Management industry preferred. Relevant professional certifications. Technical Skills Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL and at least one language like Python, Java, or Scala. Data Technologies: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake) and data processing frameworks such as FiveTran, DBT, and Alteryx. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and communicate insights effectively. Tools: Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Tableau, Power BI) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, AutoSys). Knowledge of data governance tools and practices. Soft Skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in team-oriented environments.
