Stack/tools: Proficiency with touchscreen smartphones (Android preferred but not required); strong safety procedures; ability to interact with management, engineers and the public; operates around autonomous vehicle technology
Top 3 responsibilities

Maintain high safety standards inside/outside the vehicle; emulate pedestrians, bicyclists, riders and drivers for testing

Observe, assess, and provide detailed, accurate feedback to vehicle safety operators, engineers, and management

Set up small props, navigate dynamic environments, and comply with zero-tolerance substance policies; communicate issues promptly
Must-have skills

High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years of driving on public roads with a clean record

Strong situational awareness, quick description of thoughts, and ability to respond to multiple scenarios

Ability to maneuver safely around autonomous vehicles; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work outdoors in inclement weather

Willingness to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends; travel up to 10%
Nice-to-haves

Experience with autonomous vehicle testing environments; AV regulatory/license eligibility; experience with cross-functional collaboration

The Vehicle Test Assistant plays an integral role in helping our drivers test prototype vehicles. He/she simulates “everyday” city traffic that’s seen on the road. He/she will develop a unique sense of how to safely maneuver around vehicles that are running proprietary software and hardware

Key Responsibilities
Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle; Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment; Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public; Operate with safety as the primary goal; Work closely with vehicle safety operators and provide detailed and accurate feedback about the testing; Will emulate a pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclist and/or motor vehicle driver; Set up/build small props; and Comply with Transdev’s Autonomous Vehicle Division zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs during a shift, including randomized drug testing; and All other duties as assigned
Required Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED Meets driver requirements, including driving record and criminal history under applicable regulations and laws in the state(s) in which the self-driving vehicle monitor will be working. Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads with a clean driving record;
Required Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)
Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required). Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts; Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios; Adapt quickly to new and developing technology; Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation; Must be able to safely maneuver around autonomous vehicles; Must be able to spend up to 45 hours, in a workweek, either walking around, riding a bicycle, and driving a vehicle on a closed course; Must be able to withstand working outdoors in inclement weather; Must be able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends; Must be eager, self-starter, and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments Punctual, reliable, and team player; and Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Travel up to 10% of the time
Physical Requirements
Required to talk, listen, and hear; Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, hands to finger, handle or feel, and to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, regularly push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds; Occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders; Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; and Most work is accomplished outdoors.

Must be 21 years old; All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
