The Dolby Imaging team in Berlin develops advanced algorithms and software powering Dolby’s next‑generation media processing technologies. As a Software QA Engineer, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of video processing algorithms and related software components. You will work closely with developers, researchers, and product teams to execute test strategies, build automated tests, and validate system behavior across the imaging pipeline. Our team is expanding and we are seeking both a Mid-Level Engineer and a Senior Engineer to join us.
Implement and maintain test cases, test plans, and automated test scripts for media processing and video‑related software components.
Collaborate with software developers to understand features, clarify requirements, and identify test scenarios.
Execute functional, regression, performance, and integration testing activities.
Investigate software issues by analyzing logs, debugging failures, and performing preliminary root‑cause analysis before escalation.
Contribute to automated testing workflows, including scripting and test infrastructure support.
Validate video processing algorithms using defined metrics and guidelines.
Support integration testing with internal teams and help ensure stable software releases.
Participate in planning discussions and provide quality‑focused input during development cycles.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in software QA, automation, or testing, preferably in multimedia, video, imaging, or embedded systems.
Understanding of video processing concepts, digital media formats, or similar technical domains.
Experience writing test scripts or automation tools using Python (or similar scripting languages).
Familiarity with working in C/C++‑oriented environments and testing compiled software components.
Basic understanding of CI/CD systems, software development workflows, and quality engineering practices.
