We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our Interoperability Lab team, focusing on testing and validation of Dolby audio and video technologies across consumer living room devices. This role requires a passion for premium entertainment experiences and expertise in ensuring seamless integration of Dolby technologies across diverse hardware platforms.

Responsibilities

Create and execute comprehensive test plans for Dolby audio and video technologies on living room devices Perform interoperability testing across multiple device categories including TVs, soundbars, AV receivers, streaming devices, gaming consoles, and set-top boxes Validate end-to-end content playback workflows from source to display/audio output Test various content delivery methods including streaming, broadcast, and physical media Work closely with Dolby engineering teams to understand technology requirements and limitations Report and track defects using bug tracking systems

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in Engineering, preferably in consumer electronics or media technology

B. S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Strong understanding of audio/video codecs, streaming protocols, and digital media formats
• Experience with HDMI, eARC/ARC, and other A/V connectivity standards
• Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript preferred)
• Familiarity with network protocols and streaming technologies (DASH, HLS, etc.)
• Familiarity with broadcast standards and OTT platforms

Nice to have

Knowledge about HDMI transmission standards (HDMI v2.0 / CEC messaging / Capabilities signalization etc.). Experience in Web application development (JavaScript / Node.js / React.js). Knowledge about player application frameworks, such as Dash.JS, Shaka-Player, ExoPlayer etc. Experience with content delivery networks and DRM systems is a plus

Work Environment

Primarily lab-based work environment with state-of-the-art testing equipment Occasional travel to partner sites or industry events (10-15%) Hybrid work model with flexibility for remote work when not conducting hands-on testing Collaborative team environment with opportunities for cross-functional projects
