Full Description
Execute functional, integration, and regression tests based on test cases, user stories, and specifications for APL applications and related services. Design and update test cases and test data under guidance from senior QA analysts and leads, ensuring clear steps, expected results, and traceability to requirements. Log, track, and retest defects in JIRA (or equivalent), providing clear reproduction steps, impact details, and test evidence (screenshots, logs, data extracts). Validate data and calculations using SQL or other tools to confirm portfolio positions, trades, fees, and reports are accurate across systems. Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) cycles, executing end-to-end scenarios that span APL, upstream channels, downstream systems, and operations workflows. Support release and deployment cycles by running smoke tests, sanity checks, and targeted regression in lower and production-like environments. Collaborate closely with developers, product, and operations to clarify requirements, understand changes, and reproduce client or production issues. Maintain QA documentation including test plans, test runs, test evidence, and sign-off notes as required by internal quality and audit standards. Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting test coverage enhancements, reusable test data sets, and small process improvements within the QA team. Learn and deepen domain knowledge in managed accounts, portfolio management, trading, and APL-specific workflows, applying that knowledge in day-to-day testing.
Required Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance for enterprise applications. Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals (test case design, boundary/negative testing, regression, defect lifecycle). Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr/Xray, TestRail, or similar). Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret requirements, user stories, and specifications, and translate them into test conditions and cases. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in documenting test results and defects. Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, wealth management, or capital markets domains. Exposure to portfolio management, trading, reconciliation, fees/billing, or performance reporting workflows. Familiarity with test automation concepts or tools (e.g., Selenium, API testing), even if primary focus is manual/system testing. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (sprint ceremonies, story grooming, definition of done, etc.). Show more Show less
