Job Summary

  • Enacts healthcare technology strategy and planning for inpatient/outpatient healthcare delivery through assessments, needs, and site planning, as well as implementing systems and through investment analyses within multiple care delivery settings. Consults with clinical systems deployment and collaborates on incident investigations as needed. Provides healthcare technology expertise for testing clinical systems and equipment, resolving issues, and documenting overall process. Contributes to planning for healthcare technology research and assesses new healthcare-related technologies within the team. Acts in compliance with compliance/regulatory requirements through supporting relevant processes and reviewing FDA and non-regulatory hazard alerts in a healthcare delivery setting. Develops, analyzes, and manages technology plans through a variety of program management methodologies.

Contributes to clinical systems by: consulting with user groups and strategic partners to develop equipment configurations, review facility construction plans and equipment lists, and provide technical or environment requirements for deployment for moderately complex projects for multiple service areas; and collaborating within a team and providing technical expertise and information support on incident investigations and equipment performance analysis to determine root causes of issues and recommend solutions.

Acts in compliance with enterprise requirements by: supporting senior team members and operational leaders to ensure systems and processes are used and maintained in a manner that ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations, accreditation, and industry standards; and assisting with the review of FDA and nonregulatory Hazard Alerts to understand the appropriate level of response in collaboration with the National Product Recall Management team.

Provides technical expertise for clinical systems by: troubleshooting and testing on several clinical systems and associated equipment and technology; identifying, monitoring, and recommending solutions to clinical systems and healthcare technology issues that present a risk to the enterprise; recording and maintaining documentation for design specifications, testing, and validating of new and innovative technology to be incorporated into the market in alignment with standards and requirements; providing technical expertise and consult for operational impacts of existing and new systems and technologies, and working within established timeframes; and monitoring cyber security trends independently in healthcare and ensure implementation in accordance with industry and company standards for healthcare technology.

Enacts strategies for clinical systems by: performing healthcare technology assessments, needs analysis, and site planning to identify appropriate and relevant healthcare technologies that can be effectively implemented; working with the team to implement systems that support networking, integration, and interoperability of healthcare technologies within multiple care delivery settings; conducting cost-benefit analyses and providing recommendations independently; and leading the development and production of healthcare technology strategic plans and forecasts, procurement programs and service contracts for multiple care delivery settings.

Contributes to innovative planning related to healthcare technologies by: monitoring and assessing new health care related technologies, strategies, and concepts and disseminating this information as appropriate within the team; and conducting research to stay abreast of cutting-edge technology and products (e.g., attending conferences or tradeshows, vendor product events).

Develops, analyzes, and manages technology plans by: ensuring strategy and scope identification, managing schedules, evaluating inter-dependencies, and resource forecasts; and monitoring performance (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope, and with quality) against plan and provides input and justification for costs and budget impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Biomedical, Clinical, Mechanical, Electrical), engineering technology, or related field AND minimum one (1) year of experience in engineering or a directly related field OR Minimum four (4) years of experience in engineering, engineering technology, or a directly related field.
