Role: Test Automation Engineer (Contract)
Automation: Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber

Testing domains: functional, integration, regression; hardware/software testing
Collaboration: CI/CD integration with DevOps, QA documentation
Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to support product testing
Develop and maintain test frameworks; integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; monitor execution and report coverage/defects
Perform functional/integration/regression testing across software and hardware, conduct root-cause analysis, document tests, and drive quality improvements
Proven experience in automated and manual testing for complex software systems
Hands-on with Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber
Strong CI/CD understanding; experience with GitLab CI or similar
Test strategy/framework design across multiple environments
Proficiency in Python and Bash
Linux-based systems knowledge; Git (SVN familiarity optional)
Networking fundamentals and basic cryptographic concepts (desirable)
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills; collaborative work style

Typical Activities
What we're looking for Proven experience in developing and executing automated and manual tests for complex software systems. Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber. Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience integrating tests using GitLab CI or similar tools. Experience designing and maintaining test strategies and frameworks across multiple environments. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash. Knowledge of Linux-based systems and source control tools such as Git or SVN. Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, subnetting) and cryptographic concepts (desirable). Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable ISTQB certification or equivalent. Experience testing hardware and embedded systems, including COTS platforms. Familiarity with performance, load, and security testing methodologies. Knowledge of software development languages such as C/C++, Rust, or Go. Experience working in regulated or secure environments.
Qualifications & Eligibility To Be Eligible For This Position You Must Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience; and, Be a British citizen; and Hold UK National Security Vetting (NSV) - SC level clearance (DV desirable).
