Lead supplier qualification and audits; drive Zero Defect strategies within the supply base
Manage purchased product specifications, part qualification (PPAP), receiving inspection criteria, and APQP activities; participate in supplier change requests
Lead supplier corrective actions, analyze data/trends, categorize suppliers by risk, and influence supplier performance improvements; support design for manufacturability reviews
Typically 5+ years of related experience with a BS (or 3+ years with MS) or equivalent
Broad understanding of materials, manufacturing technologies and processes
Proficiency in PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, CP, SPC; strong auditing and data-analysis capabilities
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with customers, auditors, and internal groups
ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQOE) preferred
Experience shaping supplier quality strategies and mentoring other engineers
Familiarity with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and templates

Purpose Statement: The Sr Supplier Quality Engineer drives the organization's Zero Defect Strategy and continual improvement into the supply base for both compliance and risk mitigation within operations in complex programs or key customers. This role will represent the supplier quality function to customers, external auditors and internal teams for all incoming raw material and services. This role is a key technical and indirect leadership assignment that will apply fundamentals of quality in order to influence suppliers in meeting or exceeding expectations.
