Job Summary - Essential Functions And Duties
A Flight Test Field Engineer Instrumentation performs as a lead on more complex field engineering assignments and performs a variety of engineering assignments involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of complex electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.
Apply knowledge of design specifications for more complex systems/projects Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations Perform other job-related duties, as required
Desired Qualifications
Possesses demonstrated expertise with instrumentation including thermocouples, pressure transducers, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, and transmitters; has a strong understanding of data acquisition principles, hardware, and software, with experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining data acquisition systems.
Demonstrates proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic and mechanical systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, frequency meters, and logic probes; exhibits a solid understanding of electronic principles, including analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal processing, with experience reading schematics, fabricating cable harnesses, and performing soldering and wire termination techniques; has experience integrating instrumentation systems with other equipment and, ideally, with avionics maintenance; can investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to complex engineering problems.
Shows effective integration for complex engineering systems and proficiency in applying design specifications, develop technical documentation, and prepare engineering studies; communicates effectively, interfaces directly with customers, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and works effectively in a team environment.
Requirements - Education, Technical, And Work Experience
An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the specialty field are required for this position.

SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $96,491 to $180,585 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
