Role Overview

BDD Cucumber with Java & Selenium

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BDD Automation Engineer with a strong background in Java, Selenium, and Cucumber to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites using Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) principles. Your expertise will ensure the quality and reliability of our applications, contributing to a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

BDD Automation Framework Development

Design and maintain comprehensive BDD automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
Implement and enforce BDD best practices, ensuring clear and maintainable test scenarios.
Develop reusable test components and libraries to improve efficiency and scalability.

Test Script Development and Execution

Write and execute automated test scripts based on manual test cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
Perform thorough regression testing to identify and resolve defects.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing using Jenkins.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate closely with developers, SMEs, scrum masters and QA engineers to define test strategies and requirements.
Participate in sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospectives, and daily stand-up meetings.
Communicate test results and identify areas for improvement.
Work with Business Analysts, QA Leads and engineers to refine Gherkin Scenarios.

Troubleshooting and Debugging

Analyse test failures and identify root causes.
Debug and resolve complex automation issues.
Provide detailed reports on test results and defect tracking.

Continuous Improvement

Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools and technologies.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor junior automation engineers, manual QA engineers and share best practices.

Required Skills And Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in BDD automation using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber. Strong programming skills in Java. Proficiency in developing and maintaining Selenium WebDriver automation frameworks. Experience with Cucumber for BDD test automation. Solid understanding of software testing principles and methodologies. Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience or Knowledge with API testing. Experience with database testing.
