Key Responsibilities
Perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems Apply knowledge of NFPA 72 testing and inspection requirements Document findings accurately and communicate clearly with the team Safely climb ladders and operate lifts (comfortable working at heights) Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Work independently or as part of a team Demonstrate strong technical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret schematics Understand basic electrical concepts (switches, relays, inputs/outputs) Diagnose issues such as ground faults, open circuits, and shorted circuits Use a multi-meter and phone butt-set Disable fire alarm panel NAC circuits when required NICET I or II in Fire Alarm or Testing & Inspection is a plus, but not required
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED required Physically able to perform duties of the trade If applicable, must have an honorable or general military discharge Must pass a drug test
